In Fall 2011, Dallas plans on opening the new luxury Omni Dallas Convention Center Hotel. According to Dallas City Hall, The Dallas Convention Center Hotel is the third anchor in the City’s plan to revitalize downtown. Connected via Sky Bridge to the Dallas Convention Center, guest and convention goers will be steps away from 110,000 square feet of meeting spaces, 39 meeting rooms, including two ballrooms, and other downtown Dallas attractions including the Historical West End District and many great restaurants, shops and entertainment venues. Owned by the City of Dallas, “the hotel features 1,001 guest rooms, including 67 luxury suites including three presidential suites. Omni Dallas Hotel is built to the U.S. Green Building Council LEED Silver Certification placing it on the forefront of environmental awareness and conservation in the city.”
Original scheduled to open January 2012, the development is 2 months ahead of schedule.
The Omni Dallas Convention Center Hotel is sure to bring in heavy amounts of foot traffic and conventions to the Dallas area. As of May 15, individual travelers have been able to book non-group reservations and the Convention Center Hotel is already under contract to host “just over 120 conventions” including “Freeman, a Dallas-based face-to-face marketing company” according to the Dallas Morning News. Not only will the $500 million dollar be good for bringing conventions to Dallas, but the hotel will also provide more the 600 jobs in the Dallas area, in order to appropriately run the hotel.
This luxury hotel will also feature the works of local Dallas artist in which area points in the Convention Center hotel will be named after each.
Although conveniently located minutes away from some of Dallas finest dining guest will never have to leave, onsite restaurants will consist of Bob’s Steak & Chop House, the innovative farm-to-market 3-meal-a-day restaurant Texas Spice, the Owner’s Box a state-of the art interactive sports bar and Morsel’s in addition to the Omni’s gourmet coffee shop.
