Former City Councilwoman Veletta Forsythe Lill has been named executive director of the Dallas Arts District. An active volunteer civic leader in the Arts District, her appointment comes as Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert and city leaders work to further develop leadership in the Arts District. Mrs. Lill will work with the Downtown Dallas organization, and be involved in planning for downtown infrastructure improvements, business expansion, and culturally inclusive activities.
The attention paid by the mayor and city council to this area further shows the strength the Arts District has, and the tremendous value it brings to the future of Dallas.
While the hi-rise construction of luxury towers continues to define the Arts District as a residential area, there are also choices in the downtown area for more modestly priced Dallas Condominiums that offer style, modern amenities and convenience at an affordable price for a first time home buyer. Unique among these is Buzz Lofts, well known as a “green” building. Only 4 stories tall, these downtown Dallas lofts are convenient to the DART and the cultural life of the city. Buzz Lofts is wired for future solar use, reclaims water with a butterfy roof, and lots of nice incentives. Consider that ownership at Buzz Lofts entitles the member to a Green Mountain all electric scooter, and a year’s membership at the Dallas Museum of Art.
The residences at Buzz Lofts are truly a meeting of architecture, art, and lifestyle. Eco friendly bamboo flooring, wide interiors, low-e double pane windows and energy efficient appliances are standard. Prices are from 150K-350K – and these units are popular, for good reason.
