“Slow down and sip.” That’s what The Winery at Bluff Dale Vineyards is all about.
Set on the edge of the Hill Country, David and Theresa Hayes create a beautiful marriage of unruffled Texas and “grape” savvy for wine connoisseurs and neophytes alike. Texas wines have been around since 1883, and this vineyard carries on a statewide tradition.
Five years ago, using European smarts and the finer points of winemaking, David and Theresa opened the Bluff Dale Vineyards and have endeared themselves to the local landscape with the subtleties of white flowers, blackberries, and citrus fruits that manifest themselves in their Sweet Caramella, Paragon, and White Cliff wines. Their award-winning Nexus hits the mark with sweet tarts, plums, cranberries, and cherries, a smooth red wine that’s excellent when chilled in summer. For an added accent to dessert or an after-dinner cigar, try their pralines and cream-flavored sherry or dark chocolate “port-style” wine.
The Winery at Bluff Dale Vineyards is a rare bird—much like their trademark whooping crane (a symbol of longevity and good luck). You’ll even get an extensive education through the nuances of a wine tasting. But learning to feel the ritual of savoring wine will keep you coming back.
3rd Sunday concerts! Rain or shine, the next one’s October 18th. Check out their website for details.
