A new addition to the Dallas skyline means only one awesome thing to us- More condominiums in Dallas!

According to WFAA-TV, The Pillar Group, a Dallas development company, is moving forward with a $160 million plan for the deteriorating corner of Pacific Avenue and St. Paul Street on the east end of downtown Dallas.

Along with renovating a vacant historic building into a five star boutique hotel and creation of a three-acre park, a slender skyscraper full of new Dallas condominiums is planned for downtown.
These new highrise Dallas condominiums will be a significant contribution to the downtown Dallas skyline.

The new Dallas condominiums will be located at 1900 Pacific Avenue. The new skyscraper will stand 700 feet tall, making it the sixth tallest building in Dallas. This 57 story Dallas condominium high rise will be designed by world renowned architect Michael Graves.

The new 1900 Pacific condominiums will be priced for people who make $70,000 and up, according to the Pillar Group. This means the pricing should be considerably less compared to condos priced at Victory Park.

Expected completion of the project is 2010 for the hotel and 2011 for the condominiums.

But as far as art and architecture are concerned, it’s a pretty boring building (one of quite a few others in Houston). Fountain Place is my pick, and is probably also my favorite building in Dallas. It’s very sleek and "Chicago-esque". It would look even better if there was more density and height to surround it. And when is Dallas going to get a supertall?
